This year is looking more and more like it&#8217;s going to be a stupid and awful year.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I sometimes wondered as a kid what it would be like to live when Mozart was alive. To be around when his oeuvre was being written in real time. Since Prince died, I realized that I know exactly what that was like. He was a bonafide a genius, and we got to listen to all of his great works get created. And centuries after we\u2019re gone, people will still be listening to and playing his music.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ben Finane, editor-in-chief at <em>Listen and Culture<\/em> asked me to write a piece about Prince and his work.
